{Man Birthday Date}

Ladies, do I know this man or what??!!

I took the kiddos to school. Came back home.
I asked, "So, what do you want to do today, you want to go 4-wheeling?"

He says, "Well, I know you would probably rather go to eat and a movie. . "
(Who, me? Nah. Not at all.)

I love the outdoors, but. . . I am a tad finicky. . .I don't like being too cold. . .or too hot.
I love to go 4-wheeling, but. . . when the trails are mile after mile my anxiety starts to kick in.
Like, are we ever going to arrive anywhere?  Is this trail to the ends of the earth?

But. . .I was just happy to be with him.  By the fire. Drinking Sweet Tea.

We took some chairs (my suggestion) so when I saw a pretty place.
 We could stop.
 And sit.
  And talk.
And enjoy.
This little stream was a nice spot.
We sit.
 We get sleepy.
We are funny.
I love the peaceful sound a stream makes.
To do: Enjoy God's Creation more.
I am thankful for my husband and for the quietness of the day.
Quiet is good.  My husband is good.
The weather was perfect (not too hot- not too cold)

“Too many people seem to believe that silence was a void that needed to be filled, even if nothing important was said.”

“If conversation was the lyrics, laughter was the music, making time spent together a melody that could be replayed over and over without getting stale.”

(Y'all know about Mr. Sparks new movie, right?)

{Hubby-Type Fun}

Aren't black berries gorgeous?  I think they are so pretty and remind me of all things good.
Tonight Clayton has took it upon himself to make chocolate covered strawberries a' top
of my already messy kitchen. . .
but what do you say to a man in the kitchen that desires to cook. . .
Absolutely, you can! Sure! Go ahead! Sounds great!
or all of the above.
Lily loves to have puppet shows/plays and tonight she has prepared a special show for her dad.
She has been gearing up since she got home school.  She has been preparing for weeks.
The Grandparents are even coming.
We all have prepaid for our tickets, and we have to sign at the door to get in.
Memories.
The pine cones that were once gathered for bird feeders are now Pine cone People.
Precious.
No need to buy balloons for The Mr.'s Birthday. . . after a visit to Dr. White today we are set.
I took the baby because I cant decide if he is sick or well??? Sounds strange because it is.
Thankfully, he is more well than sick! No meds.  Just awaiting some blood test results.
 I will keep you posted.
Have you searched for a card lately?
They do not fall short on the sappy. . . I just cant do corny, sappy cards.  I just cant.
This one is blank inside. . . and. . . well. . . its perfect.
Tomorrow is his special day, and we both are free birds!
I am excited!
A full day of hubby-type fun!
Talk soon!

{The Blue Plate Special}

About a month ago my son had a school project that asked the question. . . What are your family traditions?  That question made me sweat a tad.  The Mr. says, "Honey, you try too hard."  I say IMPOSSIBLE! I only have one shot at this Mom Gig and I am going to keep trying to make it count!
What I believe makes traditions somewhat of a challenge with my family is that it is so small.  Both sets of my grandparents passed years ago, and my father was an only child.  Of course we all have wonderful Christmas, Easter, and Sunday Lunch, but. . . it's the little things that kids seem to remember.  I started doing a tad bit of research and I came across this blog.  She says . . .
But what do you do if your family doesn't have many traditions? Well, you create them of course! Somebody has to create all these little rituals, so why not let it be you? Traditions don’t have to be extravagant, intense or require a lot of planning. They can be as simple as reading to your child every night in the same comfy chair, having a movie and pizza night every Friday or discussing things you are grateful for around the dinner table each evening. Traditions are the glue that keeps a family together. We all have very busy lifestyles, and adding a small tradition here or there can make all the difference to your family.
Her article and ideas not only encouraged me, but inspired me too.  I can do this!  One tradition (which sounds silly, but the picture says a thousand words) I decided to run with was "The Blue Plate Special".  Birthdays, make a great grade, memorize a Bible verse, just anything worth some extra kudos, YOU my friend, get to eat off the Blue Plate.
Lily helped me set the table tonight, and Dad will receive the Blue Plate for his birthday!  Everyone thought it was fun.

Now, whats for dinner. . .

Spinach Alfredo Lasagna Recipe by Rae Deal
I am not sure what I treasure more?
The hand written recipe from her or the wonderful meal it created tonight for my family.
Both a treasure, for sure!
It is delicious.  Meal planning, traditions, and family dinners all were high on my New Years list.
I am proud of myself!
 Harmony is a wonderful feeling!
The baked Mozzarella. . .
Beautiful.
 After I added a green salad. . .
I cleaned my plate!
And so did everyone else!

Do you have any simple family traditions you would like to share?

{Love Bug}

Its a good thing I don't fall into the "Comparison Trap"   often because. . . once again. . . Could this lady be any cuter? Seriously?  Groundhogs Day??  Anyways, this is the extent of my decor and celebration. Woo-hoo!
This week is The Mr.'s Birthday.  I have completely wiped my schedule clean. The Whole Day. Morning to Night.  Whatever he wants to do.  I have a feeling I will be on a 4-wheeler (please be warm!?!) & eating at a Cracker Barrel (not a problem). I am going to be intentional by not being busy on his special day.
Tonight. . .AT BEDTIME. . . the baby informed me he needed to make a Love Bug.  Oh my.
Look at this precious boy! He is scouring Pinterest for a Valentine Love Bug! Adorable.
Bedtime + Tired Kids + Tired Mom = Doing the best we could with what little supplies we had on hand.
Miss Crafty Lily was of course on board to help.
She had a few stickers in her Craft Arsenal thank heavens!
Sweet little hands hard at work.
Yes, I let him do 95% of it on his own.
The Super Bowl was on in the living room, so all I did was try to keep him on task.
 Meet Love Bug.
Complete with heart wings and a toilet paper roll body!
(Oh yes, The Mr. took Buddy to get his hair cut this weekend. . . I die.
I will be at my favorite barber to fix this little situation as soon as I can.)
In other news, I hung another picture!
You guys have a wonderful week and we will talk tomorrow!

{International Delight in A Millionaire Cup}

Whew, its Friday.  I am really not sure where my week went?  Lately I have been feeling like that. . .and I don't like it.  I fight business with all my might!  I had lunch today with sweet friends and met with my pastors
(Puppets made by my sweet girl)
wife about, well, that Bible Study. . . one know. . . the one I am going to lead.
(imagine sweat dripping from brow and heart beating fast)
(Worms found on my kitchen table)
I knew I would get a "start date" (March Ladies!!) today for my study so I prepared to hunker down this weekend and read. and pray. and read. and pray.
(I don't know about you but having throw-away coffee cups makes me feel like a millionaire, not that I know what being a millionaire would feel like, but in my mind that would be it, so those are a real special treat)
This next image is just wrong at all levels.
I don't drink, let me just say that first.
My name is Tonia Hobbs, and I am always sober. . .even though sometimes my actions are questionable.
BUT I had this on my plane trip home from FL. . . and.I.cant.stop.
I have had some sort of tomato drink everyday since I returned home.
And MR & MRS T (fitting, huh?) is my favorite.  I would prefer it in the cans, but cant find it.
Well, I am sure I could at a liqueur store, but it hasn't come to that. . . yet.
Moving on. . . I am a POM lover.  Look at these darlings I found thrifting the other day.

Celebrated her birthday today, but somehow I managed to get gifts?!
Thank you to you!
Thank you to you too!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Talk Soon!

I am so thankful my little ones are feeling better! Thank you Lord!
