Let the games begin! . . .and the dirty clothes, eating out, late nights, filling up the gas tank every other day, get an extra job for concession stand money, dripping ice cream cones and Popsicles, car pools, and last but not least . . ."MOM, where's my glove?"

It is alot of fun despite the "extras"!
See you there!

{4 more days. . . }

I am officially ready for Mr. Hobbs to get back into town. . . .

Yes, didn't you know a couch is for laundry not sitting?

He loves to do crafts with the kiddos.

What exactly is the color of my hair?

Happy Tuesday to ya'! I am going to have lunch with my cousin today. I am looking forward to that. I need to have something done to my lovely feet/toes . . . but no time for a pedicure right now. Oh well. I hope you enjoyed some more old photos from my stash. . . The sooner Mr. Hobbs comes home the sooner I get my camera back!

Love, Tonia

P.S. By the way, I decided I do miss him more than the camera.

What Your Child Treasures
What is your child interested in? What does he think about? Where does she spend her money? What do your kids like to do? Jesus said, “where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).
Most of the time the activities our children choose indicate what they treasure. Because the heart and behavior are closely linked, parents can look for things their kids can do that will encourage healthy heart change. Look for ways to guide your children into constructive and helpful activities, hobbies, and relationships.
Sometimes you’ll have to limit certain activities, but look for positive ones to replace those you’re taking away. Try to attract your children to good choices by providing opportunities they’d enjoy. By adjusting what your children do, you can influence what they enjoy and eventually what they treasure.
Sometimes simply providing different choices guides your child into more healthy heart situations, but other children seem to have a bent towards treasuring the wrong things. Or they may want to spend hours in activities that aren’t necessarily bad in themselves, but you know they don’t contribute to maturity and growth.
You may have to use a combination of approaches, including setting down some firm limits to guide your child in the right direction. That’s part of the hard work of parenting, but it’s not optional. Be creative and look for alternatives, but recognize that, if a child isn’t responding, you may have to provide parental control. Don’t be afraid to take a stand to redirect your child into more healthy choices. After all, too much of a particular thing can have an unhelpful affect on the heart.This idea was taken from the book, Parenting is Heart Work, by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller, RN, BSN.

Today was a great day at church. Everything went well I was able to meet some more people who would like to volunteer in the nursery (that is always a good day). I served at the senior adult luncheon. . . what precious people. How about some more photos from my Memory Lane.

{An Early 1st swim}

CLAY

CLAY
Today was a really nice day for me, and I needed it. I was able to get some much needed rest this morning. The kiddos and I decided to get out for lunch so we went to Gregory's. Carla makes some great food.

I went to visit some family (my sister-n-law). She is responsible for introducing me to the Mr. Hobbs. I am forever indebted, you know? We got some cold ice water and sit out on her porch and talked and talked and talked some more. The weather was wonderful. We decided to grill some hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner. And you guessed it . . . the kids went for the 1st swim of the year. CRAZY STUFF!

Now remember earlier I told you Mr. Hobbs took my camera with him. And to be honest at this point I don't know if I miss him or my camera more! Today was a great picture day. But have no fear this family is not short of summer swimming photos so I will share some older ones from my stash.
